Articulate Rise FAQ's Frequently Asked Questions
Articulate Rise FAQ's
What is Articulate Rise 360?
Along with Storyline, Articulate Rise is one of the main components of the Articulate 360 suite. Rise enables you to design great looking eLearning courses for various devices.
Because Rise is a web-based authoring tool, there is nothing to download to your computer. Instead, you simply open your browser, log in to your account and you’re ready to get started.
Drag and drop functionality makes it quick and easy to add and reorder your content as needed.
What do I need to get started with Rise?
To use Articulate Rise, you’ll need to have an Articulate 360 subscription. This will include Rise and Storyline eLearning authoring apps, along with a huge range of content such as stock images, themes and more.
If you want to check out Rise to make sure it’s right for you before purchasing, Articulate provides a 30 day free trial.
Are any templates available in Rise?
You bet; Rise has plenty of templates ready to go. Templates can help you get started and they support lots of workplaces and business situations. They can also be customised to suit your specific purpose. Just like content you create from scratch, every template is editable, so go ahead and modify them to fit your training goals.
You can begin by clicking the New Course button at the top of your Rise 360 dashboard. Once the Create New dashboard is displayed, just filter the library to display only templates. Select a template and you’re good to go.

Can I upload Rise content to my LMS?
Courses that you create in Rise 360 are SCORM compliant, meaning you can easily export an LMS package. Once uploaded, your course can be shared with learners, and your LMS can track their progress through the lessons and quizzes. Once they have completed a course, the LMS will show their results.
What is meant by Responsive?
What is meant by Responsive?
When you create content in the Rise app, you will typically use a regular computer or laptop. However, when learners view your courses, they may be using a different device, such as a tablet or smartphone.
Responsive design means that your lessons will adapt to each screen size and orientation. The best part is that all of this happens automatically. You can use the preview option in Rise to test this out as you build your courses.
What’s the difference between Rise and Storyline?
There are many differences. Rise and Storyline are both eLearning authoring tools, but the biggest difference lies in their ability to customise a learning experience. Rise is based on pre-build content blocks that enable you to add text, images, multimedia quickly and easily. However, it has limited customisation options for the blocks. Storyline is much like PowerPoint; it uses slides for you to build with. The customisation options are much broader.
On the other hand, Rise wins hands down when it comes to responsivity. It will automatically adjust to different devices, whereas Storyline content can be viewed on various devices, but it won’t rearrange content for those devices.
Rise is web based, all you need to do is log in, whereas Storyline must be downloaded to your computer for you to develop content.
Is it possible to translate my course to another language?
Yes. Rise can export a XLIFF file, which is an industry standard format for exchanging translation data between different tools and applications.
After creating your course, you should create a duplicate. Once that’s done, go to the settings, then look for the Translations tab. After selecting the options you need, choose Export XLIFF File and save it to your computer. The exported file can then be used in any standard translation system to perform the translation.
The resulting file can then be imported back into Rise, ready to share with your learners.
Where to from here?
When you complete a Rise training at Keystroke Learning, you will learn how to use the most efficient methods to achieve your daily tasks.
In addition, the best practices and shortcuts that we teach you will help you do your business tasks more quickly and effortlessly.
Usually, our experienced trainers will first lead you through the functions and features of the software. After that, you will have a chance to use them by yourself while guided by our tips on how to get the best out of each feature.
Finally, we highly encourage our course participants to ask questions since this is the best way to clarify all your doubts. Our trainers will gladly provide you with constructive feedback.
At the end of the course, you’ll receive a manual to take away, as well as exercise files. These will be helpful when you practice later on, or you can use them to jog your memory when you need to.
